Currently I spend hours swiping on my Ipad through other people’s gorgeous food/lifestyle websites. You’re here so you too are spending a bit of time when maybe you should be filling out that tax return eek! However, as much as those sites are gorgeous they aren’t very interactive are they? So here’s an idea have you ever thought: I’d love to try that restaurant in that magazine I read about in Paris but you are in Australia, London, Dubai or even Paris but whatever the reason you can’t try it yourself? Or you’re planning to come visit Paris later on in the year with your love, or business, or just because but want to know is that hip bar really that good, or that restaurant is it minuscule and and what of the food are those critiques accurate? Here’s the solution: send me on your own personal foodie quest.
Yes you read right, I will go to whatever restaurant or bar you request me to. I will write a blog as usual but instead of talking about moi, as interesting as I am, I will write about the request in other words – you – yes indeedy and not just 15 minutes of fame once it’s on this blog and Google has it forget what the European Data Commissioner has to say you will be famous forever!
If you’ve been reading my blog, or a newcomer in that case bienveune/welcome – then you’ll know I am a details person; whether the greeting was warm, the tables crammed together, was the food a little too salty and just how pricey was that meal. Everything counts for me including the cleanliness of toilets and how long I was allowed to linger and enjoy my food without even broaching the subject of noise – everything can be grand but if the noise levels are that of a disco frankly I can turn my bijou palais into a home disco with a glass of wine without paying someone else to render me deaf.
Now here’s the thing I pay for the all meals and drinks I enjoy myself and I don’t ask for freebies from restaurants – there is no such as a free meal and what if it’s rubbish how do you write a review starting off: thanks for the free meal but it was crap?! No! Independence is where it’s at. All that to say I will try and eat at the places you suggest – I am not sure how popular this is going to be so if I get a deluge of requests the wallet and stomach can only stretch so far. I will try and fit as many in as I possible can before the end of 2014 and I do love to eat – thank goodness I am training for the 16km Paris-Versailles in September. If it’s Michelin star restaurant you request – me too – I love fancy ritzy places but I don’t have fancy ritzy money especially not at dinner time so they will be strictly lunch places only. Also if you just want to send me to your favourite bakery – I do love a sweet treat please feel free. Before you fill out a foodie quest form make sure you do a quick search of the blog to see where I’ve already eaten, drank and bought sweet treats from.
I will write a blog post detailing everything – if you have a website or blog I’ll mention and link to it so it’s a win win for everyone.
Drop me a line here or go to the page on the site and lets have some vicarious foodie fun – well for you in any case!
